So a couple days ago I came across something that I received in Relief Society a couple years ago. It is a suggested schedule for accumulating basic food storage called Squirrel It Away . It is perfect for someone like me who never knows what I should be buying for food storage. Are you like me???
I wanted to share this idea with you so I decided that every week I will post the "assignment of the week" on my blog (see side panel). Purchase the items listed per member of your family. Example: 3 cans of corn x 4 family members = 12 cans of corn. If your family does not eat a certain product, simply substitute it for something similar that you like to eat. Chances are you probably use these items weekly in your own diet so it's not like you are going to be buying 20 pounds of rice and 50 pounds of wheat. This is a fun, inexpensive way to stock your food storage. Good luck!

Hey Ash, thanks! I'm going to try and "squirrel" it away with you--great idea.
That is awsome...a perfect idea for a lazy person like me who just isn't in the mood to buy a bunch of crap that I know I won't eat anyway! I'll be watching out for my weekly update!
We are doing a similar thing in our ward. It's called project Noah. We are on week 14. I do have to credit my parents for teaching me some, they were always good about stuff. Some of it rubbed off. I love things like this 'cause it gives me a project and then I know I'm prepared. Thanks Ash! We even have backpacks for each of us all in different areas of the house. Man, am I a molly or what?
This is a great idea, Ash. Thanks for the help...heaven knows I need it! Way to be in charge!
Hey Thanks do you mind if I pass this on?
Not at all!! Feel free to pass it on to all your friends and fam. :)
That is a great idea! I need to do it!! Thanks for sharing.
Ok I am SO JEALOUS!! You went to the Jazz game!!! You are so lucky! Let's hope we can take it all the way with the Lakers!!
