Another Day At The Office

It's Tuesday morning and back to the same ol' thing at work. But today I did something that I have never had to do in the past. And believe me, I have seen and done a lot of WEIRD stuff at work. Today a guy came in to have a TICK removed. So I took the tweezers and pulled the little guy out! Then he got dropped on the ground so I was looking all over the floor for my little friend...how embarrassing! But find him, I did. The whole scenario was just funny so we had to take a few pics with the cell phone.
Just some helpful advice if you happen across a tick this summer, do not burn him with a match or try to smother him in Vaseline just gently tug his body and s l o w l y pull him out. He will most likely bring a little skin along with him...

And that is your Dermatological lesson of the day.

Meet my little friend...before I dropped him in a vial of formalin and killed him.

We are a very professional office...I PROMISE!

I am so glad you didn't eat it. Wow. I could never do your job. I love the pics. At least you got a good laugh out of it.

A tick! Really? I didn't see that when I was there. We do get some weirdo's don't we (and I'm saying this as if I still work there). Although, a part of me still feels like I do.

Anyway, you can't fool me with that professional talk. I know what goes on there, and boy do I miss it!!!

Why do you always hear to smother it or burn it out? I'm glad for the dermatological lesson, thanks.

I have a tick question...Isaac seems to think ticks are the size of a pinhead and I know they are the size of a ladybug. Is this because of the different regions we grew up in? What's here in IL?
I like your tounge too ;>

Khania,
Thank you for your question. This specific tick was about the size of a ladybug because it was engorged. It had about a two day blood meal so he was pretty "stuffed". There are a lot of different ticks and they range is size.
I say you are both right!
