Presto...Pesto!!!

Having a native Italian as your next door neighbor reaps many benefits. She has made us some yummy treats in the past and her calzones...so delicious! Last week Guiliana was sweet enough to teach me and a couple other gals from the neighborhood how to make PESTO which I am a huge fan of so I had to take her up on her offer. I was so excited to use my fresh basil from the garden and it was so easy too! So far we've enjoyed it over yummy bread, spaghetti and on sandwiches. I love it!

Thank you Guiliana!!

Here is the recipe we followed:

2 cups fresh basil leaves
2 garlic cloves
1/2 cup fresh Parmesan cheese
2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup pine nuts
salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in food processor or blender.

Aren't these little jars of pesto the cutest?!

Thank you for the recipe. We are growing basil in our garden and just don't know what to do with all of it. Looks good!
