Valentine's Dinner

I made the most delicious dinner last night thanks to my friend, Lizzy. She brought this meal to us a few years ago and we loved it. I finally got around to making it myself. Try it! Believe me, it will become a family favorite. I served it with Orange Rolls and steamed broccoli. So yummy!

Chinese Chicken

4 chicken breasts, cut into strips
Garlic salt
1-2 beaten eggs
Corn starch or flour
Sliced almonds & sesame seeds

Sauce: (enough for 4 breasts; can half it if doing less)
1 ½ cup sugar
½ cup chicken broth
2 TBS. soy sauce
1 cup vinegar
½ cup ketchup

Sprinkle garlic salt to taste into beaten egg & soak raw chicken strips. Individually coat each strip in flour or corn starch & place in hot skillet with oil until browned. (chicken doesn't need to be cooked thoroughly in skillet) Place browned chicken in a Pyrex dish & coat with half of the sauce. Sprinkle with sliced almonds & sesame seeds & bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until sauce is bubbly & chicken is cooked thoroughly.
Warm remaining sauce on stove until boiling & slightly thickened.
Serve chicken over rice with remaining sauce.
