Warm Halloween

I love Fall. And this Fall has been so beautiful! I hate cold Halloween's. My friend Lori told me this story once of a Halloween several years ago (when I was like 5) when Halloween was so warm that year that she sat on her front porch sipping a Diet Coke and wearing a sweatshirt...not freezing in her winter coat! Have you seen the movie Hocus Pocus? I love that movie! I think that movie takes place back east and I have been back east in the Fall and it is beautiful! I remember driving down a road in Massachusetts and the wind was blowing the leaves all over and I thought..."This is picture perfect!" I love all things Fall...

This past weekend was the Dent Reunion and my fam was in charge. We decided on a Halloween theme of course! Complete with a costume fashion show and a spook alley featuring my brother Jasson as the Headless Lady, my brother in law Tim as Jason from the Halloween movie, Ben controlled the scary monster that moved up and down and freaked the kids right out of their costumes, and me selling concessions of eyeballs, fingers, hearts and ears! What a riot! We had too much fun! We were all laughing behind the curtain! And can I just say once again how adorable my nieces and nephews are?? They are so so fun! My niece Sarah who is only 5 said, "Ashlee, we never talk anymore. Why don't we ever talk?" And then my niece Natalee who is 9 said, "Ash, you might be slightly disappointed in me next month. I'm going to a Utes game." I had to laugh.
Ben & I came straight from the BYU game so we were sans costume this year but check out my dad!!
Tonight Ben and I got down and dirty...and carved our pumpkins!!!! Ben is so creative. And you should see the insides of his pumpkins. You haven't seen anything cleaner! I entered one of our pumpkins into a contest at work and came in 2nd. Ben was bummed that we didn't make 1st place but as Young Frankenstein once said..."We must accept our failures with quiet dignity and grace."

This picture cracks me up 'cause it looks like it was taken in a studio. Ya know how some people have their picture taken with their dog!! It looks like me and my pumpkin got our picture taken at Olan Mills!

Our pumpkins...the one on the far right we ended up painting white like a ghost...very cute! The middle one, in case you can't tell is MIke Wazowski from Monsters Inc.
We have a great time getting ready for Halloween! It's supposed to be 70 degrees this Friday and I am so looking forward to my warm Halloween...and my Diet Coke!

Your pumpkin is so beautiful! Glamor Shots baby. What a fun aunt you are! I have to agree with you. Whenever anyone moves here all I talk to them about is how wonderful Halloween is-you can wear your costumes w/o coats and people all sit outside to hand out candy. It's the best.

What a poetic post...you start with the story then end it in your own life....amazing ;)

I LOVE the pumpkin that won second place. Jake and I have one more pumpkin to carve and it's huge and we can't decide what design to make.
Oh well, Halloween is the best! Do you have a village? We do and it's kick A!!
